Who ever wrote this article got all their facts straight except for one MAJOR one. The recent elections in Cuba are NOT anything new. Cubans have always been able to vote at the municipal level, there is NO difference here because all the candidates are selected/nominated by the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) as they have always been. These are NOT free, fair, nor transparent elections since these candidates must tout the party line (communist party line). There is NO space for candidates who truly want reform.
